Reiki
Reiki was formally defined, developed, and channeled by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1900’s. Reiki (“Ray-key”) essentially means boundless/unlimited energy/power. The practice of Reiki focuses on restoring the energy flow that is blocked or disrupted which can lead to physical or emotional issues.
A number of scientific studies have shown that Reiki helps to balance the function of the endocrine and autonomic nervous system. It elicits a relaxation response in the body, including reducing levels of cortisol in the bloodstream. The body heals faster and more effectively, as it goes to the cause of the disease, allowing physical symptoms to clear once the cause is addressed. Reiki works on mental, emotional, physical and spiritual levels.
What to Expect from Reiki
You will remain clothed unless there is massage happening in the session as well. I will either lightly place my hands on or hover them just above your body. This helps direct energy to facilitate healing. As I move my hands, I will be sensing energy flows. The room will be peaceful. Many times, clients fall asleep or into a deep relaxed state, unless we are doing a process that involves some dialogue. I can address any number of issues using this gentle technique.
Reiki is also effective even when a client is not physically present, as this healing energy transcends time and space regardless of distance. If we are doing a distance session, we will arrange a time for me to focus on sending Reiki to you either while you are sitting or laying, or even while you go about your day.
Reiki provides several benefits such as:
-
Reducing stress and anxiety
-
Relieving pain
-
Improving sleep quality
-
Supporting the body‘s natural healing processes
-
Enhancing overall well-being

“My anxiety levels reduced substantially when receiving distance reiki from Anna.”
