Infants

What to expect when working with an infant

Though the birth journey is a miraculous event, it can cause challenges and stresses to an infant and parent. Receiving CST can help to adjust and realign what may have been overly challenged during the birth process. It can be good to get CST for your infant even if they are not showing big signs of struggle just to create more ease in their experience of being in their body. The infant may be breastfeeding, in a caregiver's arms, in my arms or on the table while I work. If they are older they may play with a toy or be read to while I work. I will likely work in the mouth, and if I do I will wear a glove for cleanliness.

What to expect after the session:
Children will usually have one of two reactions: either they will sleep heavily and be very relaxed after their session; or they will be very energized. Please be prepared for either possibility.

It is helpful to have some unscheduled time after the session. This gives the body and mind a chance to integrate changes.

Changes will continue for several days after the session. Any exercises or homework I offer is to continue to support these changes. It is helpful if you can take note of differences.

"Wow, by yesterday evening my son's head was clearly a normal shape again even his father noticed how less tense he seemed.

He likes to spin in circles and last night he also started spinning for the first time in the opposite direction. " -H.D.
